6 Days in Hawaii

Just came back from a quick break in Hawaii. What a beautiful place. The weather was just perfect. The water is so blue, the waves plentiful. You could snorkel and scuba dive to your heart’s content. I’ve uploaded a bunch of pictures that I took over there. I’ve mixed it up with some still life images inspired by place settings that I saw and food that I ate in Waikiki. I’ve decided to focus my travel photography more in the conceptual side and more food related too. I just don’t know how I’m going to do it. I have this idea of taking pictures of backgrounds (like tables and chairs) so that I can composite it on food shots that I will later do in my studio. I’ve always been interested in compositing. The main picture in this series is such an attempt: Eating Taro in Hawaii. Taro is very popular in Hawaii so I created this image that ties all my interests together in one image – food, portraiture, & travel.
